FESTIVE GINGERBREAD COOKIES

 

                                                             FESTIVE GINGERBREAD COOKIES

Let us enjoy these coldest days with warmest ginger filled cookies by reminiscing the happy memories one experienced through the year.



 

Ingredients:

  • ·        Plain Flour (Maida) – 1 and ¼ cups (1 cup = 240ml)
  • ·        Unsalted Butter – 50 grams
  • ·        Brown Sugar -¼ cup (50 grams)
  • ·        Ginger Powder-½ Tsp
  • ·        Baking Powder-½ Tsp
  • ·        Baking Soda - ½ Tsp
  • ·        Honey – 50ml ( ¼ Cup)
  • ·        A pinch of Salt

Icing:

  • ·        Powdered White Sugar- ½ Cup
  • ·        Milk - 3 Tsp. 
Mix the powdered sugar with milk and whisk it until thick. Can add permitted food colors to decorate as per wish.


Instructions:

  • ·        Mix the Dry ingredients of Maida, Ginger Powder, Salt, Baking Powder and Baking Soda.
  • ·        Mix the wet ingredients of honey and butter with brown sugar and whisk until creamy.
  • ·        Get the wet and dry ingredients together and shape it to the dough consistency.
  • ·        Keep it in fridge for 2 hours.
  • ·        Preheat the oven for 15 min at 180˚C
  • ·        Roll the dough and cut it to desired shapes.
  • ·        Place the parchment paper in the baking tray and align the cookie dough.
  • ·        Bake the cookies for 180˚C for 10 min.
  • ·        Cool the cookies completely and using the icing to decorate accordingly.
